Jeremiah 33:1-26

I. I Will Heal My People (33:1-9)

1. When did the events in this chapter take place? (1) How does the Lord describe himself in verse 2? What does he encourage his people to do? (3, Luke 11:9-13)

2. Who will bring all of Judah's destruction according to verses 4 and 5? And healing according to verses 6 and 7? What can be learned about God's character and our lives? (Matthew 5:17-20)

3. How did the Lord cleanse us from all our sins? (8; Matthew 26:27-28; and 1 John 1:7) When sins are removed what do people do? (9) How can people hear to gospel (good news/things)? (Romans 10:14-15)

II. David's Branch (33:10-18)

4. What does the Lord tell them about the desolate towns of Judah? (10, 12-13) Who will restore Judah? (11) When will this be fulfilled?

5. What does "the days are coming" and "in those days" refer to? Who is the righteous Branch? (15; Isaiah 4:2, 11:1-9; Jeremiah 32:5-6; John 15:1-4) How is the Lord our righteousness? (16; and 1 Peter 2:24-25)

6. How did Jesus fulfill the promise in verse 17? (Matthew 1:1, 22:41-45; Romans 1:2-4) And verse 18? (Hebrews 6:19-20, 7:15-22)

III. I Will Have Compassion on Them (33:19-26)

7. How sure are the Lord's covenants? (19-21) Who are the Levites in the kingdom of God? (22; and 1 Peter 2:4-5, 9-12) What do they offer? (Romans 12:1-2; Colossians 3:12-17)

8. What did the people believe because of the destruction of Israel and Judah? (23-24) Who established the covenant and who would keep it? (25-26) How does Israel's and Judah's discipline teach us about how he deals with his people? (Psalm 23:4; and 1 Peter 1:6-9)
