Different sources are a year different for some of the kings. It must be noted that Judah considered the length of their king's reign different than all the nations around them including the northern kingdom. * Zimri reigned in Israel for seven days. ** Tibni and Omri both contended for the throne for four years until "Tibni died and Omri reigned". *** aka Jehoahaz and Azariah. **** Athaliah was the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel and wife of Jehoram, king of Judah. After her husband and son died she tried to kill all of her husband's children and did so with the exception of the very youngest, Jehoash (Joash) who was hidden from her. % The people made Uzziah king of Judah in his father's stead twenty years before his father's death. Otherwise his reign would have started in 779 B.C. %% Jotham reigned in his father, Uzziah's stead for the last 10 years of his father's life when his father became a leper. Officialy his reign would have started in 740 B.C. |
