I. Old and Well Advanced in Years (1:1-4)

1. When David was old what problem did he have? (1) Why might he have this problem? (1 Sam. 22:1, 24:3; and 2 Sam. 23:13, and 1 Chron. 11:15; Ps. 22:6) How was his problem solved? (2-4) Why might he refrain from intimate relations with her and why wasn't his many wives any help?

II. Adonijah Follows Absalom's Example (1:5-27)
