Christ (Messiah) Jesus' (Yeshua's) followers are told to hope for a better future, a perfect future. Yet sometimes we lose sight of the future God has planned for us and/or we wonder how much better it will be. What is a true Christ follower's future going to be like? Do we have something to hope for? Does our hope for the future shape our daily emotions, thoughts, and actions?
The Bible states in 1 Cor. 13:13, “And now these remain faith, hope and love.” The modern believer has some understand how faith and love will remain. Many of Jesus' followers can recite other Bible verses that refer to faith and love. But what of hope? What do we hope for? What hope do modern Christ followers have for the future? Recent events have caused many to lose hope. Drug and alcohol abuse, depression, suicide, worry, pornography, and vague and real fears are on the rise because many have lost hope for their future.
If the average attendee of a Bible teaching church were asked, “Do you have hope in your future? What does your future look like?” How would they answer? How would you answer? Most would give the following vague answer, “I’ll be in heaven with Christ and other believers.” Ask them to clarify and they would probably be at a loss for words. Ask them if they have hope for this life and most would have a hard time honestly answering yes or would say they have little hope for this life.
Why is it that most people who call themselves Christian know of the events of the seven years of tribulation even though they believe they won't be here to experience it, and yet know so little about what God has planned for those who believe in Him and His Son? And why doesn't that hope seem to inspire most believers in our day to day life? Why do a growing number of people have no or little hope for a positive future?
This free finished non-fiction is a treatise of what the Bible has to say about Jesus' believer's future so that we may be encouraged and strengthened; so that we may have hope for the future.
